What are Pole Rail Fences?
Pole rail fences are most commonly used as horse fencing. They can be found in farms, ranches and around bungalows. There are 3 types of decorative and functional pole rail fences: the two-rail fence, the three-rail fence and the four-rail fence. The two-rail fence is used for decorative landscapes, as it allows for greater visibility of the area. Three-rail fencing is used as horse corrals and arenas, as boarder fences and as yard boundaries. The three-rail fence is the most popular type of pole rail fence as it is highly durable and lasts for years. An optional wire mesh is used to keep unwanted animals out and children and small pets safely enclosed within the territory. The four-rail pole fencing is commonly installed for horse corrals and roping arenas. The additional rail provides better security in that there are smaller spaces between the ground and the first rail and between each rail. Pole rail fences are attractive and can enhance the beauty of any rustic-style property. Their durability is highly treasured by homeowners and can also be used for other residential properties or as swimming pool enclosures. Pole rail fences are highly recommended for sprawling areas such as swimming pools, farms and gardens. Pole rail fences have been traditionally used as garden enclosures in years past, and can still be frequently spotted in rural areas and villages. They are also utilized to this day in racing tracks. Pole rail fences used in farms are constructed with a zigzag style, piling five rails on top of each other. Two short stakes are used for corners and are driven into the ground. Using pliers, short pieces of wire are then twisted together to support the rails and the stakes. These days, pole fences now come in a variety of materials such as decorated wood or the highly malleable aluminum.
